All are welcome.

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.

RCIA is a process of study, exploration, faith-sharing, and faith formation with specific liturgical rites for seekers and inquirers. Seekers and inquirers are non-baptized adults who desire to be fully initiated into the Roman Catholic Church and/or baptized adult Christians who desire full communion in the Roman Catholic Church.

If you are interested in entering into the process of RCIA, contact Laurie, our Pastoral Associate, to take the first steps. She can be reached at 586-977-8080, Ext. 104, or emailed at LHall@sjfparish.org.

Congratulations to our 2020 RCIA neophytes!

This Pentecost Sunday, we welcomed five members: Derek Sylvester and Nicole Halatsis, who received Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation, as well as Ashlee Smith, Viktor Doqaj, and Bernard Doqaj, who received First Communion and Confirmation. It was a deeply moving experience to witness adults entering into the Catholic Church through the Sacraments!

As we are still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s celebration was different than it has been in the past. However, everyone involved made sure to practice careful social distancing and wear masks. We thank the Lord for guiding us in a wonderful Sunday celebration!

We wish thank each of you who provided cards of welcome. They were very much appreciated and truly served to welcome and congratulate our neophytes!

We ask that you continue to pray for God to send us more seekers! We can start the RCIA process at any time. If you know of anyone interested in learning more about the process of sacramental preparation, please direct them to Laurie Hall; she can be contacted at LHall@sjfparish.org or by calling 586-977-8080, ext. 104.
